Our Little Princess Turns Five

Last September 4, 2015, our family celebrated the 5th birthday of our little princess, Rhienne Lindsay. My husband and I were so delighted to have a dinner date with our immediate family at Shakey’s. Gosh, I can’t believe that in that few years, we have already raised a wonderful child of God. She was such the best gift to us. She’s so sweet and intelligent, something a parent would be proud of. All we ask of God is to bless her with a great life with us, keep her from harm and sickness. Protect her from evil and guide us, her parents, to have more opportunities so that we could give her a better and brighter future.

Here, let me share to you our simple yet joyful moment.

My princess while waiting at the reception. We two have to arrive at Shakey’s 30 minutes earlier than 7:00 pm to attend the orders. Upon arrival, we were assisted to the party area where fortunately was being set for the following day’s birthday party. It’s like the whole decorated area was being shared to us! Lucky!

A few minutes later, her Daddy arrived with a surprise gift. Although it was not wrapped, it’s still a surprise for our princess! It’s her 2nd set of Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe edition. Her cravings and addiction satisfied!

with my “ORIGINAL” baby, my cousin Christie. She used to be my baby-love when I was in high school. She’s a big girl now, actually we are in same-size!

Lindsay got 2 cakes!! It's from her Uncle Cahndu, my eldest brother. Unfortunately, he doesn't had a single shot here because he arrived super late, blame it to the traffic. A day before her birthday, she was being asked by his uncle, what should be the message on the cake? She said, "Happy Birthday Lindsay! Love, family" and voila! What she wants, what she gets!

To the man who always striving hard to make her only princess happy. Lindsay has a very strong love for Daddy Rainier. She never fails to show her affection to him. Whenever she receive something, she always say her thanks. She wouldn't sleep at night until she could kiss her Dad. They are a perfect combo!

Aside from the fun family dinner, Lindsay received these simple yet sincere gifts. Her 2nd Play-Doh set is from her Dad. She always make greeting cards for me and her Dad saying Happy Mother's Day or Father's Day. She also loves to make one for her grandparent's when they have their birthdays. One time she asked me, "Why would I never get a greeting card? Should there be a 'Happy Baby's Day' too?". That moment, she dreamed of receiving a greeting card named to her. And that's what my gift to her on her special day. She was surprised when she saw it on a table when we came home from school. She was very happy to finally receive her first greeting card! The last gift is from my mother - 2 pairs of Hello Kitty sleepwear.

Our princess’s day ends with such joy and blessing. Being with family is such a priceless moment. My husband and I were so grateful that the Lord has given us the most precious gift of life, that is our daughter. For almost 5 years, He made us see and experience the wonder of being a Mother and a Father. Many years would come and we are always praying that He would never stop guiding, protecting and loving us. To our Lindsay, may the Lord bless you with all the happiness and the best this life has for you. May you always find kindness and gratitude to your heart over the blessings of the Lord for you. We love you to infinity, our Precious Princess!

So Long….

Yeah! It has been soooo looong!!!

It has been a year since the last time I remembered that I have a blog. Blame it to the Mommy duties. I have a preschooler to attend to. And I also had some not-quite-good-2014 so it was really tough to face the monitor and write something. I was pre-occupied by tons of works, only a mother could bear. My physicality and emotions were tested, as well as my faith. And I guess that it only made me stronger and better.

I wonder what’s this year has in store for me? I hope trials would not be as big as the last year. We were all thankful we have overcome it, with flying colors! Maybe I could share that to you. My next post is now UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!!

🙂

A Random Thoughts of Mommy-hood

As I face my computer these days, there are countless dedications, thanksgiving, and messages of love around the internet. And I didn’t even noticed that Mother’s Day is just around the corner. I was so busy circling around the house and doing tons and tons of chores that doesn’t seem to end. Oh this is just a Mother’s life. But I love every second of it!

Though it might sound a bit late, which I guess not because it is still May and it still not to late to share to you my random thoughts about “Mommy-hood”.

Reality Check

Being a mother is something that hasn’t been in my wildest imagination. I don’t know. I have no single idea on the Standard Operating Procedures of the said “profession”. All I have is the urge on chasing that one big dream, and a simple life being a single lady.

But not until I met my ex-boyfriend (now my Husband)!

Big Decision

From a single lady with a very monochromatic life, to a lady with a rainbow above her head – that’s what happened to me when I met the love of my life. It was so overwhelming that I always felt butterflies inside my stomach. Maybe that’s what love got to do with it..got to do with it.. All I ever wanted is to be happy with the only man of my dreams.

Anna&Rain

The perfect match – After we graduated on 2009, we immediately decided to be together as ONE.

Two years have passed and we were at the peak of our relationship. We really wanted to be with each other in the soonest possible time. I had no speck of doubt in my heart and that moment I realized that the One Big Dream I have been chasing is this – to build a happy family with him. A year after we both graduated on the same year 2009, we have decided to hurry things up. I was two months pregnant when we got married and I’ll say that I was on a high. It feels like cloud nine. From then on I promised to be the best better half that he could ever had. But I realized that marriage doesn’t end up only being the husband and wife. Because sooner or later our world will be filled with blessings and responsibility as we wait for the coming of our first child.

A Soon To Be Mommy

The gender of the child inside me was still unidentified after I have made my 1st ultrasound in the second trimester of my pregnancy. And we have decided not to know the gender anymore because we want to surprise ourselves. So I prepared two names, one for a girl and one for a boy. I also prepared unisex-colored baby stuff such as white wardrobes and bedding so that it would match the baby’s gender, no matter what it would be. On the other hand, my doctor said that I will be giving birth around 3rd week of August 2010 (according to my records) but to my surprise, I ended up waiting for more than 1 week. I was full of excitement, and of course I was also running out of patience. Why not? The pain was unbearable. I can no longer sleep well. I feel so terribly heavy.

Labor Day

I was already September and I have not yet giving birth. I almost wrote a letter to my baby asking when he/she will come out. I wonder what he/she replied? Then one night (it’s actually past 12 midnight) my husband came home drunk, after a stressful asphalt-pouring things he manages as an Engineer at the Valenzuela City Hall. I was mad at him and not talked to him the whole time. The next morning, 6am, September4, Saturday, I felt stomach pain. I immediately called my doctor and she set an appointment at 9am. Lucky for me the hospital was a few walks away from my mother’s house where we stayed for a couple of months. The doctor said I was already 4cm and anytime soon I can be admitted, but we went back home and we waited there. It was 3pm and I can no longer stand the pain that occurred every 2 minutes. I was admitted at Pres. Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center (now Caloocan Medical Center) and there I bear the most painful part of childbirth – the labor.

The place where I gave birth.

The place where I gave birth.

At 7:41pm, I gave birth to a 7lbs baby…GIRL! I was so groggy and sleepy. I didn’t know what happened next. All I can remember was at the time the baby came out, that was the MOST WONDERFUL FEELING EVER! All of the hardships, the heaviness, the stress, and the pain were all vanished in just a blink of an eye. I just wanted to see the fruit of my me and my husband’s love.

Certified Mother

Oh yes! I  am a mother. As I was moved into the ward room, my mother gave me my first born angel. She was so peaceful and long…literally long, just like her father who was so blessed with heights. Although I didn’t have the chance to carry her in my arms because of dizziness, I still managed to breastfeed her for the first time. I looked at my husband and he’s just staring at her baby girl, and I thought, “Gee, I am the happiest human alive!” That moment made me realized that the story of us as a family had just begun. Our baby is named Rhienne Lindsay.

A Mother’s Joy

They say that one of the ultimate joys of being a mother is to witness her child’s development. To see her offspring’s little achievements through the years, from the time it first opened it’s eyes to the world. For me it is true, and I have seen them all. From the time she breastfed to me, to her first sit, first stand, first tooth, first baby food, first walk; when she was welcomed to Christianity, to her 1st, 2nd and 3rd birthday, and now as we enter to another journey of her life, as a student, I’ll promise to be on her side all the time.

And lastly, my deepest gratitude to the Lord Almighty for giving this wonderful family that I will be sharing my whole life and love with for the rest of my life.

Cheers to all the Mother’s in the world!

To Dream Is to Dare

 Image

Have you ever dare asked yourself, “How far can I go?”. Do you believe in the famous saying, “Nothing is Impossible”?

According to a textbook, “Our visions light our paths in moments of darkness and sustain us in the huge arena of struggle that is the outside world”. We are born in this world to live and to dream, and to achieve is the most precious incentive that we may get. When we’re a bit younger, we used to say, “I want to be a doctor”, and then tomorrow, “I want to be a teacher”, and on the next day, “What else do I want to be?”. It is not bad to dream, especially for youngsters who often change dreams almost everyday. It is just so good to imagine that while young at heart, we’re mature in mind. Dreaming is a proof that we have a vision of our lives in the future. And while growing up, we are getting to realize the importance of exerting effort together with the talents and skills we have developed on achieving what do we really want to be.

Although there are obstacles in our way, we can overcome it as long as we stick to our faith and the eagerness to pursue our dreams is alive. But despite of this, we also have to lend an ear to others. Meaning, we must listen to what they want to advice or remind us in accordance with their experiences, and use this as an armor when we get there on the battlefield.

Dare yourself to dream. We may lie in wait for the result to come but if we will work hard and wise and if we will believe, the aftermath is success.

The Lenten Spirit

image

A Palm that symbolizes the Lenten Season

Today is Sunday and it is indeed a scorchingly hot summer Sunday. And it always make me wonder why on every Lenten Season here in the Philippines, it feels like we’re toasted by the hot temperature.

Yes, this April 2014 we are celebrating (or should I say, reliving) the Lent or “Mahal na Araw” in Filipino. It is actually considered as one of the most important occassions of the Catholic religion because it was the time when Our Lord Jesus Christ died and suffered His life from the cross to save the mankind from its sin thus made Him The Savior of The World. And the Palm Sunday is the signal of the beginning of the Lent.

As my family went to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy this morning to celebrate the Palm Sunday (Linggo ng Palaspas), I was enlighted by the Priest’s homily. He said that the good thing about Filipino culture is that we pay high respect to the meaning of the occassion. He said that the palm was used by the followers of Jesus as they welcome Him and celebrated Him as their King. Traditionally, Palms were brought to the church to be blessed through sprinkling of the Holy Water, and we Filipinos put our blessed palms into our homes specifically at the front door, the windows or at the altar. The priest said that those traditions were indications that we always welcome the Lord with strong faith and glory. He told us that may the blessed palms make us remember and realize the sufferings of Jesus Christ who died at the cross to save us from our sins.

As we relive the Lent, may we always find a space in our hearts to repent our sins and ask for The Lord’s  Mercy and forgiveness. May we always be thankful for the life and blessings that He gives us everyday and be grateful to Our Savior Jesus Christ for His undying love on us.

Have a blessed week ahead!

I am so lost but now I am back ;)

Oh my Golly!!
It has been forever since I had the chance to visit this blog. It was just that I was so terribly busy as a mommy and a wife, you know, doing stuff here and there. I feel awful for not updating this page for quite a long time, I also had no ideas in mind the passed few months that I could share to you. Blame it to the “Dishes, laundry, dust & grime and so on…”.

By the way, for my update, I would like to share these latest photos of my daughter, Lindsay.

She has grown into a pretty little princess. We didn’t even notice the years have gone by in front of us. She’s now 3 years old and by next year she will be going to school. Actually, at the age 2 she knows how to count 1-10 and beginning to learn her ABC’s. Right now she fully memorized the English Alphabet, even if it’s jumbled. She also learned to write letters on her own, without my assistance. When we’re on the road, she enumerates the letters she sees from everywhere. Now that’s something to be proud of.

As a mother, nothing could ever be happier than to see the fruit of you and your husband’s love progressing and growing through the years, right between your eyes. She has grown so dearly, it makes me want to cry.
