Yes, there are millions of artists and performers in the world today, but only few brings the greatest and most timeless act. Something that has never been expected, an overwhelming performance that thrills anyone who sees it, and will truly mark the history.
Here is a rundown of some of my favorite and most precious performances by such great artists!
AT LAST by ETTA JAMES LIVE on DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 8
The late great Etta James’ performance at Dancing with the Stars amused me so dearly. Not only it was classic, but it’s true that only she can perfectly sing it. I may not known her, but the fact that she is one of the greatest artists the world ever has defined her to me.
MARIAH CAREY LIVE at the GRAMMY’S 2006
No, never mess up with this Diva! Mariah Carey never fails to disappoint her audiences by giving them superb and touching performance, just like this one on the night of the Grammy’s on 2006 where she sang her #1 hit single We Belong Together and the inspirational Fly Like a Bird from her very successful album The Emancipation of Mimi.
JESSICA SANCHEZ & JENNIFER HOLLIDAY LIVE ON AMERICAN IDOL SEASON FINALE
Damn! Who could ever forget this thrill-and-chill-to-the-bones powerhouse duet by AI finalist Jessica Sanchez and Dreamgirl herself Jennifer Holliday, as they skyrocketed the world hit And I Am Telling You I’m not Going during the American Idol Season Finale. Jessica might not bagged the American Idol title but one thing for sure, she did won the World Idol title that night. And take note of the strong emotions showed by both of them – Incredible! And take a look at J. Lo’s and Randy Jackson’s faces – “Doug, that was Crazy!”
ADELE LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL
She is one of the most successful artists of this generation, and considering her young age, Adele already set the fire to her career. The whole concert showcased what music she shares to the audiences and made them feel Adele’s soul as she performed the songs from her Grammy Award winning Album 21.
MARY J. BLIGE LIVE AT GRAMMY’S 2007
Mary J. Blige wowed the world once again when she performed a medley of her award-winning hit Be Without You and Stay with Me, Baby live at the 2007 Grammy’s. The transition she made was a perfect high-score to all who have watched it and proved that MJB is the only one to hold the Queen of Hip-hop Soul title.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA LIVE AT THE GRAMMY’S 2007
Christina Aguilera nailed this classic hit from the late James Brown, to the third place on the Grammy’s Greatest Moments. The Etta James-inspired songstress done a very good job on her own rendition of It’s a Man’s Man’s World (which I think is a risky one because of the very high notes!) No doubt, the audience loved her performance as they gave her a standing ovation.
And so that’s it. There are still some great performances around but I only name few which for me are the best. Might as well check this out My Night at the Grammy’s wherein they enlisted the top 25 greatest Moments on the Grammy’s.
